This is the method to use in strong winds to lock the van roof. One of our fellow club members had his van open. His car was coupled to his van and the roof opened and wrote off his car and his van. Having known about this we had ropes over the van in a 100k wind and while lying on the bed we could look up and see the sky through the opening in the roof. I devised this method to make it safe in the future.
